JEJU ISLAND ( 1 )

In Jeju Island’s dialect, ‘Olle’ means the pathway with no cars. The pathway also refers to the small route that connects the road to the door of a house, and was is developed by individuals who enjoy walking. Jeju Olle, a corporation supervising a walk through ‘Olle’, expresses the route as “a road of peace, a road of nature, road of coexistence, road of happiness, and road of consideration”.

There exists ‘Olle-Jigi’ in every course of Olle. ‘Olle-Jigi’ refers to the people living in the town who guide tourists and gratify the visitors’ curiosity. In addition, there is ‘Halmang-minbak’ for people visiting Olle in every town. ‘Halmang-minbak’ refers to the rental room service by the seniors in the town inviting the travelers. All who visit the route are the owner and the guests of Olle. Comfortable footwear and relaxed mind is needed in order to enjoy Olle at a leisurely pace.

Udo Olle

Udo, which floats in the shape of a cow lying down gives the Jeju look with green pasture, black stone walls and a light house.

Udo olle is the course where you can enjoy the beauty of Udo with an emerald beach throughout the year as part of the biggest island among the 62 islands within Jeju. As you walk by the stonewall olle with old historic stone walls while passing by Swaimultong hill, take time to really enjoy the batduk olle where the local farmers grow wheat, grains and peanuts. The basic Udo peak walk course goes straight up to the sightview area; however the olle course is made to climb Udo peak through the sidewalk of the Udo reservoir. This path is indeed a beautiful pasture full of poppies and clovers.

Passing through Jongdal-ri salt field and Siheung-ri coast road, you will meet Sungsan Ilchulbong again at the Soomapo beach. The color of Gwangchigi beach at the end of the road is simply fantastic.
